Mona Lindemann was last seen on December 1, 1989, when she told her family she was going to meet someone for a party. She was reported missing by her parents on December 6, 1989, when she failed to return to her parent’s Mauriceville home where she lived. In 2007, the Orange County Sheriff's office received a tip that Mona's body was in the trunk of her 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix located in the Sabine River. The river has been searched multiple times, but her vehicle nor her remains were located.
