Guerrero was last seen leaving his family's North Side home for a friend's house in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 24, 1988, with $3 in his pocket and no wallet. He never made it to the friend's house, and he never came back. He was devoted to his family and often took his mother to shop and run errands. Four months after their son disappeared, the Guerrero's hired a private investigator to search for him. The investigator called off the search when he ran into nothing but dead ends. Authorities believe that Guerrero met serial murderer Jeffrey L. Dahmer sometime during the evening and returned to Dahmer's residence in West Allis, Wisconsin with him. Guerrero may have agreed to pose for photos for Dahmer during the evening as a way to make extra cash. Dahmer was arrested for numerous murders of young men in Wisconsin in 1991. He told authorities that Guerrero was one of his victims. Investigators believe that Guerrero's remains were destroyed by Dahmer and as such cannot be recovered. Dahmer was sentenced to life in prison in the early 1990s. He was killed in prison by a fellow inmate in 1994.
