Jason was last seen at Club 2606, a gay club on Armenia Avenue, leaving with two men he had just met. These two men, later identified as Scott Schweickert and Steven Lorenzo, admitted to luring Jason back to Lorenzo's home and drugging and murdering him. They then dismembered his body and scattered the remains in garbage dumpsters throughout Tampa. Schweickert was sentenced to life in prison, and Lorenzo was sentenced to death for his murder, along with the death of another man. Jason's remains have never been found.
