Gerald Pollard was last seen sometime in January 2013, standing in the front yard of his automotive shop. He was reported missing by his wife 30 hours later. She explained that it wasn't unusual for him to be gone for a day or two. In November 2017, the Person County Sheriff's Office arrested a man with ties to Gerald's family for first-degree murder and kidnapping. This individual was also a person of interest in the disappearance of two women, both of whom are still missing. Despite the arrest, Pollard's body was never located. In August 2019, the charges against the suspect were dismissed due to lack of evidence, and the suspect passed away in February 2020.
