Kendrick was supposed to board a bus to Hainesville, Louisiana after he was dropped off at the bus station on 6th and LA St. at 2200 hours. He did not arrive and it's unclear whether he boarded the bus. At the time of his disappearance, he was carrying $800. The trip was supposed to last two weeks, with Kendrick returning in time for a family reunion on July 5.
