Doris "Pat" Carter was last seen at her residence on the evening of December 16, 2011 by her daughter, who also lives in the home. On the morning of December 17, 2011, the daughter awoke to discover Doris and her female companion, Kelly Moriarty, were gone, as well as Kelly's car; although, the vehicle has since been recovered.
