She was last seen on October 15, 2002. At that time, she had mentioned to family members that she was leaving for Alaska. She had her rental car filled with luggage and a canoe strapped to the roof. She gave her son almost all of her belongings and left in her rental car. The rental car was found parked in Eureka, California. The canoe was missing.
