Johnson was last seen in Tallulah, Louisiana on September 22, 1998. His 1985 Peterbilt truck was discovered abandoned and burned in St. Joseph, Louisiana on October 11, 1998, nearly three weeks after Johnson's initial disappearance. St. Joseph is 44 minutes due south of Tallulah, and is in Tensas Parish.
