Don was the pilot of a L-39 jet that went down on 7-3-98 with Donovan Rodriguez (MP # 22539) as the rear co-pilot. The two had left Cherry Capital Airport at 6:30 pm and were lost from radar at 6:47 pm south of the Fox Islands in Lake Michigan. The wreckage has never been found.
