On 10/14/97, Mr. Lane got up from his desk at work and went outside. He has not been heard from since. He failed to return to pick up his last paycheck. His desk was neat and things were in order. Lane told his boss that he was having trouble with his neighbors and would be moving to a new place. He spoke about an ex-wife and 2 children, but friends and co-workers did not know their names or whereabouts.
