Clotilde's family hadn't heard from her in a few days and went to her apartment where she was living with her husband and 8-year daughter. When they arrived, the husband stated that Clotilde had taken off with another man. There was a language barrier between them. The family only spoke Portuguese. The family said that Clotilde would never leave her daughter. They reported her missing to a Fall River Police officer. Clotilde has not been seen or heard from since August 1, 1988.
