Description

The decedent was an unidentified Hispanic female who appeared to be a Mexican National between the approximate age of 16-25 years old. On the morning hours of 11/26/2022 a panga style boat with multiple persons was observed in the Pacific Ocean off the Imperial Beach shore. The boat was witnessed to overturn, and a nearby resident saw the overturned boat and persons in the ocean and contacted 911 for assistance. Lifeguards responded to assist, and additional agencies were dispatched to the scene. The decedent was brought to shore and assessed by paramedics. Her death was confirmed, without medical intervention, due to lack of cardiac activity.
