Description

The remains of an adult male was discovered in a heavily wooded area west of Highway 101 at milepost 251 on a northerly slope of a hillside, above a creek bed. This location is close to the Winchester Trail System, 12 miles south of Coos Bay and 1. 6 miles north of the intersection of Hwy 101 and West Beaver Hill Road. The remains appeared to have been there for a number of years; a World Encyclopedia book binding was found with a 1965 date on it.
