Description
On 6/9/2018 at approximately 1800 hours, USBP Agents located a mostly intact skull with no mandible present in a wash in the desert area south of Tacna, Arizona. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office responded and contact was made with the Yuma County Medical Examiner's Office. The remains were recovered. No clothing or identifying information was located around the remains. An initial forensic anthropological examination of the skull was conducted at the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office. Results indicated the skull to be male, Hispanic, and possibly of Guatemalan decent. All damage to the skull was indicated to be postmortem. Estimated age was between 18 to 40 years old. Bone fragment samples were retained for potential DNA analysis.
