Description
On April 9th, 2019, archeologists working on the Barry Goldwater Range located bones while surveying the above area. Range Control Officers were notified, and the Yuma County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Mohawk Pass southeast of Tacna, Arizona GPS: N 32 35. 3750, W -113 40. 3750. Contact was later made with the Medical Examiner's Office in reference to recovery of the skeletal remains. The remains consisted of a mandible, multiple leg bones, and a broken pelvis. A sock and an unverifiable article of clothing were also found with the remains. Booties with carpet glued to the bottom commonly used to disguise shoe impressions in the desert were also located with the remains. No other items were located with the decedent.
