Description

On 5/21/21 at approximately 1016 hours, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office was notified of skeletal remains located south of the Fortuna Foothills area by archeologists working on the Barry Goldwater Range. The remains consisted of detached ribs, a several bones in the legs and arms, and a mandible. A wallet was located near the decedent, but did not have any identification. Multiple clothing items were found with the body and documented. The remains were taken to the Yuma County Medical Examiner's Office and a femur sample was obtained pending possible DNA analysis.
