Description

On 6/14/22 at approximately 1719 hours, the Yuma Police Department contacted the Medical Examiner's Office to advise of a human bone found under the Interstate 8 overpass west of the Ocean to Ocean bridge. The remains consisted of a single femur which was reported to YPD by a bystander who had been walking in the area. The intact femur was recovered from the scene and retained pending possible DNA analysis. Photographs of the bone were sent to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office. Observations were made that the femur belonged to an older male subject who had been involved in a physically demanding job.
