Description

On 10/10/22 at approximately 1130 hours, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office notified the Medical Examiner's Office of skeletal remains located in the desert area southeast of Tacna, Arizona. The remains were located by a humanitarian group scouting the area of undocumented immigrants in the desert area in need of assistance. The remains consisted of skull fragments, mandible fragments, multiple small bone fragments, and two femurs. The remains were weathered. The remains were recovered and transported to the Medical Examiner's Office where femur and mandible samples were retained pending possible DNA analysis. No property or belongings were located with the remains.
