Description

On 1/3/2022 the Yuma County Sheriff's Office advised the Yuma County Medical Examiner's Office of remains located in the desert area south of Wellton Arizona, west of the Tinajas Altas Mountains. The remains were initially located by a subject camping in the area. The remains consisted of a mostly intact pelvis, several vertebrae, multiple ribs, a mandible with teeth, and several small bones. The remains were recovered and transported to the Yuma County Medical Examiner's Office. One article of clothing, a sun faded pair of camouflage pants with no other property in the pants were located with the remains. Samples of the mandible and teeth were retained pending possible DNA analysis.
