Description

On 7/3/2023, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office contacted the Medical Examiner's Office regarding skeletal remains located in the desert area on the Barry Goldwater Range, south of Aztec, Arizona. The remains were initially located by hikers in the area. The remains consisted of a skull without mandible. The skull was approximately 19cm in circumference. No clothing or belongings were located on or around the remains. The remains were recovered and brought to the Medical Examiner's Office where skull and teeth samples were retained pending possible DNA analysis.
