Description

On 9/21/23, the Yuma County Medical Examiner's Office was contacted by the Yuma Regional Medical Center Pathology Department in reference to a human skull located with other property in the lab. The skull was recovered and brought to the morgue. No signs of a skull fracture or trauma were observed. The Yuma Police Department was contacted and provided with the information regarding the recovery of the skull. There was no information indicating were the skull had been recovered, and there was no case information with the skull. It is unknown what case these remains are associated with as it is unknown how long the remains had been stored in the Pathology Department. Samples of the skull and a tooth were retained pending possible DNA analysis.
