Description

On 11/08/2023 the Yuma County Sheriff's Office contacted the Medical Examiner's Office regarding skeletal remains located in the desert area east of Tacna, Arizona, west of Mohawk Pass. The remains were located by US Border Patrol Agents in the area. The remains consisted of a skull, two scapula, a humerus, a radius, a broken pelvis, a femur, a tibia, and multiple bone fragments, ribs and vertebrae. The remains were located with underwear, a belt buckle with an 'M, ' a blue denim jean pocket, Colgate toothpaste and a bottle of electrolyte drink. The remains were recovered and brought to the Medical Examiner's Office where teeth samples were retained pending possible DNA analysis.
