The owners of a dock near where the dec'd was found had been smelling a foul odor since 09/22/10 but they did not know what it was. On 09/25/10 they called MPD to check out the smell but nothing was found. The dock owner decided to check for himself the next day and when he went into a thick wooded shoreline area he found the dec'd floating near the shoreline in an advanced stage of decomp. The dec'd was found floating face up wearing jeans and socks. Shoes believed to be the dec'd were found 10 to 15 feet from the dec'd in different locations.
