Description

In rural Sedgwick County, a track excavator/shovel was in operation excavating the bed/channel of Sand Creek around the site where the cranium was recovered. Based on the location and appearance of the remains, it was discerned that the skull more likely travelled to the location of its discovery by water movement rather than having been buried or place at this location. On 05/13/2011, a follow-up survey of the location was conducted which resulted in the discovery of a human long bone (femur).
