Circumstances
On 1/10/2015 at about 1430 hours, a Kayak instructor and his students were paddling on the west side of Lake Merced, near Skyline Drive, when he noticed the subject floating face down among vegetation, near the shore. San Francisco Fire Department personnel arrived at Lake Merced's west shore, located about 650 feet north of Harding Drive. From this location the subject was noted face down in the water, near the shore, and down an approximate 15 foot embankment. Fire personnel had to cutaway dense brush and grass to make their way down the the steep embankment. Paramedics made contact with the subject and confirmed death present at 1510 hours. She was dressed in a sweater, two shirts, athletic pants, underpants, shoes, and socks. No jewelry or property was secured. External examination revealed the remains to be cold to the touch with lividity indiscernible and rigor mortis absent. She was in a moderate state of decomposition, with skin slippage, balding, and featured distortion. No obvious trauma was noted.
