Description
On 06/17/2024, a retiring physician was cleaning out his office and came upon a human skull that a former patient had given to him approximately 15-20 years ago. The patient claimed the skull was dug up on her property in Redwood City and was examined by an expert at the time who determined it was Native American. The retiring physician was unable to recall the name of the patient who provided him the skull or where the patient lived. The retiring physician decided to turn the skull over to law enforcement now that he was retiring and moving out of his office. The skull was later examined by a forensic anthropologist who determined the skull was NOT Native American and was likely of Hispanic/Latino ancestry.
