Description

A hiker found found human remains in draw of a ravine in the foothills north of Salmon on 5/5/2025 and reported to the Lemhi County Sheriff's Office on 5/9/2025. The LCSO recovered the remains on 5/24/2025. There was a shovel head lying next to the recovery site. The handle appeared to have rotted away as the securing bolts were still in place. The shovel head had Baldwins Monongah Brand printed on it. The size of the shovel was listed as a #2. The shovel was researched and it was found that the company was in business from 1910 to 1931.
