Description

Accidental death of an unidentified adult male who was found dead in Oakland. On 7/07/2022, about 0104 hours, a bystander called 9-1-1 after witnessing a individual catch on fire at the empty lot located on E. 12th St at 46th Ave, Oakland. At 0110 hours, Oakland Fire Department responded and at 0120 hours, Paramedic S. Levering determined Doe to be deceased. No LSM were taken due to obvious signs (burns covering entire body). The bystander told the OPD Officer he was walking by the lot and noticed Doe alone, once he reached the corner of 46th Ave, he heard a booming noise and saw Doe on fire. The bystander immediately called 9-1-1 and tried to put out the fire with a blanket. Multiple spray paint cans and a lighter was located near Doe's body.
