Description

According to the Investigator's Report, the decedent was an unidentified man that was found at the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant in San Ysidro. On the evening of October, 11, 2011, San Diego Police received a call reporting a body in a solid sewage bin at the treatment plant (Medical Examiner’s Case Number 11-2205), and while investigating that, the decedent’s body was also found wedged in some of the processing equipment. The equipment filters large debris, with a raking and combing-type apparatus, before depositing it into the solid sewage bin. The drainage system originates in Mexico and drains into a72 – 96-inch pipes which pass underground to the facility in the United States. Refer to NamUs Case #: UP54884
