Description

On July 9, 2021, Yuma County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by USBP BORTAC units when they discovered the skeletal remains of a female subject in a small wash area approximately 20 miles south of S Ave 40 E. Per deputy the remains had been there for some time and it appeared as though wildlife had come upon the remains at some point. There was a vehicle registration card that was found nearby with her possible name on it. The remains were secured and turned over to the medical examiner. No sign of trauma or foul play. Mexican Consulate made contact with the owner of the vehicle registration and confirmed she was still alive. Skeletal remains continue to be unknown.
